Port of Guangzhou (Huangpu)

Position : 23¡ã08'55" N 113¡ã29'23" E
 located in the mouth of Zhu Jiang River.

 Channel : depth / 8.6 meters; length/ 63 miles.

 Temperature : annual average 21.9¡ã, the highest temperature is 38.7¡ãC and the lowest is 0¡ãC.

 Wind : from April to August wind direction more from the southeast; from September to next year March, more from the northeast, tropic cyclone more occure in summer and autumn.

 Precipitation : annual precipitation is 1720 mm and nearly 60% falls in the period from April to August.

 Ice : ice-free port.

 Fog : annual average 25 days, normally occured in the early morning, and disapeared after sunrise.

 Hydrology : spring and neap tide changes every half day irregularly with water level rising of 3.87 meters in the highest and -0.24 meters in the lowest, tide difference is 1.64 meters, rising tide speed 1.03 meters per second, ebb tide speed 1.29 meters per second.

 Hinterland : the port covers provinces of Guangdong, Guangxi, Hunan, Hubei, Yunnan, Guizhou, Sichuan and ports of Henan, Fujian and Jiangxi.
