Port of Zhangjiagang Position :  located in the lower beaches of Yangzi River.  Channel : depth / 10 meters.  Temperature : annual average 15.2°, the highest temperature is 38°C and the lowest is - 4.2°C.  Wind : wind direction more from the southeast, average speed 3.8 metres per second.  Precipitation : annual precipitation is 1000 mm and nearly half falls from July to September.  Ice : ice-free-port.  Fog : annual average 28.7 days.  Hydrology : tideway of Yangzi river, raise and neap tide changes every half day irregularly with water level rising of 6.69 meters in the highest and 0.74 meters in the lowest, tide difference is 3.19 meters, rising tide speed 0.32 meters per second, ebb tide speed 0.48 meters per second.  Hinterland : the port covers three important cities of Suzhou, Wuxi and Changzhou.
