Port of Qingdao Position : 36°10'35" N 120°28'31" E  located in the south of Shandong Peninsula.  Channel : 2 channels available, depth 10.6 meters; length/ 1.5 miles.  Temperature : annual average 12.1°, the highest temperature is August with average of 25.1°C and the lowest is January with average of - 2.4°C.  Wind : in summer wind direction more from the southeast; in winter, from the northwest, and Qingao is very seldom influenced by typhoon  Precipitation : annual precipitation is 768 mm and 70% falls in July and August.  Ice : ice-free port.  Fog : annual average 51.6 days, normally occured in spring.  Hydrology : spring and neap tide changes every half day regularly with water level rising of 5.36 meters in the highest and - 0.62 meters in the lowest, tide difference is 2.77 meters, average tide speed 0.51 - 1.02 meters per second.  Hinterland : the port covers two provinces of Shandong, Henan, and parts of Hebei and Shanxi.
