Port of Shanghai Position : 31°06'32" N 121°32'39" E  Situated at the crossroads of China's "gold coast" and "golden waterway" -- the Yangtze River.  Channel : depth / 7 meters; length/ 67.2 kilometers.  Temperature : annual average 15.3°, the highest temperature is 40.2°C and the lowest is - 12.1°C.  Wind : aunually direction more from the southeast; strong wind more from northeast, max typhoon 10 degree, max speed 43.9 meters per second.  Precipitation : annual precipitation is 1143 mm and 128.8 days.  Ice : ice-free port.  Fog : annual average 25.5 days, normally occured in autume and winter, and usually from everning to 10 o'clock next morning.  Hydrology : spring and neap tide changes every half day regularly with water level rising of 5.74 meters in the highest and 1.12 meters in the lowest, tide difference is 2.31 meters, rising tide speed 1.81 meters per second, ebb tide speed 1.51meters per second.  Hinterland : the port covers one municipality of Shanghai and provinces of Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui, Jiangxi,Hunan, Hubei,Sichuan.
