Port of Beihai Port of Tianjin (Xingang) 

 Position : 38¡ã56'22" N 117¡ã58'47" E
 located in the west of Bohai Gulf

 Channel : depth / 11 meters; length / 27.4 kilometers single direction, change direction every 4 hours

 Temperature : annual average 12.5¡ã, the highest temperature is in July with average of 26.2¡ãC and the lowest is in January with average of - 4.1¡ãC.

 Wind : in spring and autumn, wind direction more from the south- west; in summer, more from the southeast; in winter, more from the northwest, average speed 4.2 metres per second.

 Precipitation : annual precipitation is 600 mm and nearly half falls in July and August.

 Ice : ice period covered from December to the following year March with thickness between 15 to 40 mm, which leaves no influence for vessel's navigation in the channel and terminal basis.

 Fog : annual average 14.6 days, normally occured in autume and winter.

 Hydrology : spring and neap tide changes every half day irregularly with water level rising of 3.2 meters in the highest and 2.6 meters in the lowest, tide difference is 2.47 meters, rising tide speed 0.4 meters per second, ebb tide speed 0.24 meters per second, direction parallel with channel.

 Hinterland : the port covers two municipalities of Beijing and Tianjin and provinces of Hebei, Shanxi, Shan'xi, Gansu, Qinghai, Ningxia and Innermongolia.
