Port of Xiamen Position : 24°35'45" N 118°06'42" E  located in the west coast of Taiwan Strait .  Channel : depth / 10 meters; length/ 7.8 seamiles.  Temperature : annual average 20.8°, the highest temperature is July and August with average of 28.3°C and the lowest is February with average of 12.5°C.  Wind : wind direction more from the northeast, annually 3 - 4 typhoon influences the port.  Precipitation : annual precipitation is 1181 mm and rain season is from May to October.  Ice : ice-free-port.  Fog : annual average 22 days, normally occured in winter.  Hydrology : spring and neap tide changes every half day regularly with water level rising of 5.66 meters in the highest and 1.74 meters in the lowest, tide difference is 3.96 meters, rising tide speed 0.46 meters per second, ebb tide speed 0.61 meters per second.  Hinterland : the port covers south part of Fujian province.
